Discover Hidden Gems in your community.
Looking for somewhere fresh to ride? We are excited to launch a brand new Hidden Gems series as part of Bike Month across the GTHA and Guelph. These weekly features will give you insider tips on some of the best trails, paths, and on-street bike facilities. Whether you cycle to work, ride the trails on the weekend, or bike to get around town, we hope you’ll find a hidden gem. Then, share it with a friend, colleague, or family member who wants to give biking a try this spring.
This 34.3 kilometre trail offers scenic views, gardens, and even a Walk of Fame. Get out and explore!
The Caledon Trailway is a lovely route to bike, mostly off-road.
This quiet rail trail follows the path of an abandoned CN rail line, built in 1877 by the Hamilton and North Western Railway.
The two railways were amalgamated into the Canadian National Railway. After being decommissioned in the 1980s, the Town purchased the line in 1989.
It was the first officially-designated part of the Trans Canada Trail (now called The Great Trail) and is accessible year-round.
Ride to the pavilion in Caledon East and you’ll find an arboretum, extensive gardens, and the Caledon Walk of Fame.
Give riding a try on the Caledon Trailway.
